Body Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgeries done on the body are used to correct specific problem areas.

There are many different kinds of plastic surgeries that can be performed on the body. Some plastic surgeries enhance the look of the body using a surgical procedure.

Arm lift surgery, as an example, removes fat and excess skin from the arm.
In both Buttock implant surgery and calf lift surgery, an implant is inserted to enhance the shape of the area. During liposuction, excess fat is removed from specific areas to contour the body. A tummy tuck may be used to remove excess skin from the stomach area to reduce sagging. However, this surgery causes a permanent scar. Mole removal surgery is done using a scalpel to remove the mole tissue. Vaginal surgery is used to tighten the vaginal opening, or reduce the size of the labia.

There are several less invading surgeries that usually only require a laser. Hair removal is an example. The laser energy damages the hair follicle, and this causes to hair to fall out. However, laser hair surgery is not often permanent. Tattoo removal and varicose vein removal also use laser technology.

In tattoo removal, the laser is used to break up the pigment, and the smaller pieces of pigment are expelled naturally by the body. In varicose vein surgery, the laser helps to reduce the appearance of the veins, and they eventually disappear.

Some surgeries are done as health necessities: gastric bypass surgery is a common example. This surgery is done only on very heavy individuals. During this procedure, the stomach is stapled to be made smaller, and is connected to a lower part of the intestine. This causes the patient to become fuller faster when eating and require less caloric consumption.
Plastic surgeries vary in the reasons for undergoing them, their procedures, and instruments used.
