Breast surgery

Many different breast surgeries exist to tackle different concerns

The most popular breast surgery is breast augmentation. There are many reasons for which women perform this surgery, and they are all acceptable. The size enhancement is discussed with the surgeon to avoid future complications or complaints. During the surgery, an implant is inserted under the breast. The implant must be replaced every several years.

Breast lift surgery is completed in order to restore the youthful look of the breasts, and to reduce sagging. The new position of the breasts is outlined. After removing excess skin, the new position is secured with stitches. The nipples are also stitched into a new place.

Nipple reduction surgery is performed to reduce the area of the areola. Excess areola tissue is cut out using a scalpel. Internal sutures are placed internally so that the tissue does not tear apart. External stitches are used to close up the area. Patients are required to wear a surgical bra for several days after the surgery.

Nipple surgery can be done for reasons other than nipple reduction. Nipple surgery can be done to enhance the nipples, or align them on both breasts. Inverted nipples can be corrected. The incisions are made in the areola, and thus the scars are usually not visible. To reposition the nipple, the area of the nipple can be separated and relocated.

Breast reconstruction surgery is a procedure used to restore breasts after a mastectomy or a lumpectomy. One type of this procedure uses a balloon expander that is placed under the breast tissue to stretch the skin. This is done so that the new implant has space to be placed in. After the skin has stretched enough, the implant is put into place. When undergoing breast reconstruction surgery, some women prefer to enhance or lift the other breast to create symmetry.
