| Brow Lift Surgery |

Brow lift surgery involves tightening the forehead muscles, and sometimes removing some skin. Brow lift surgery can help with raising the eyebrows to a more appealing position. Droopy eyebrows can also be altered with this procedure. It can also improve forehead wrinkles and lines between the eyebrows and on the nose. The muscles of the forehead are tweaked through the incision. The surgeon removes about one inch of the scalp, and then close the incision. In the endoscopic forehead lift, incisions are made behind the hairline, and they are about one inch long. Through these incisions a device with a small camera is inserted, called a endoscope, hence the name. The surgeon is able to weaken the forehead muscles, thereby causing fewer wrinkles. The scalp is not shortened, but moved upward. The scalp is secured into place by placing screws into the skull which are later removed. Subcutaneous lifts are least common. The incision is made across the head, on the hairline. The surgeon, like in the coronal surgery, alters the muscles. Some excess skin is removed, like in the coronal surgery, but the hair line is not moved. This technique leaves a scar at the top of the head by may be visible. |
